Our Story

Born in Jacó, Built by Locals

Vamos Jacó Tours was founded in 2018 with a simple belief: the best way to experience Costa Rica is through the eyes of someone who calls it home. What started as a small operation running ATV tours through the hills behind Jacó has grown into a multi-sport adventure tour company Jacó travelers trust for everything from jet ski ocean rides to zipline canopy crossings.

As a family-owned business rooted in the community, every decision we make starts with the same question: would we take our own family on this tour? The answer guides how we train our staff, choose our equipment, and treat every guest who books with us. We are not a corporate call center booking tours from a desk in the capital. We live here, work here, and reinvest in the local economy — from the sodas where we stop for lunch to the conservation initiatives that keep our trails and waters pristine.

Our team is made up entirely of local guides Costa Rica trained, certified, and deeply familiar with every trail, tide, and wildlife pattern along the central Pacific coast. When you ride with us, you ride with people who grew up surfing these waves, hiking these ridges, and navigating these rivers. That local knowledge transforms a good tour into an unforgettable one.

We recommend booking at least 2-3 days in advance, especially during the high season (December to April) to ensure availability for your preferred dates.

Yes! Many of our tours include free round-trip transportation from hotels and rentals within the Jaco and Herradura areas. Please check the specific details of your chosen tour.

Most tours are family-friendly. For example, the Crocodile Safari and Banana Boat have very low minimum ages. However, ATV and Jet Ski driving is strictly for adults (18+).

We offer a full refund for cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the tour start time. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable. Please note that deposit refunds take approximately 24 hours to process due to bank policies.

No prior experience is necessary. Our professional guides provide a full safety briefing and operational instructions before every tour begins.

It depends on the tour, but generally we highly recommend sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes (for ATV/Zipline), and a swimsuit/towel for water tours.

Yes, we operate rain or shine. In fact, ATV and Rafting tours are even more fun in the rain! We only cancel in case of extreme weather conditions that compromise safety.
